Houston Lesbian Bar “Pearl Bar” Becomes Largest Lesbian Bar in the World During Houston Pride

It’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter!

They weren’t lying when they said everything is bigger in Texas. On June 5th popular lesbian bar Pearl Bar owned by Julie Mabry moved down the street to a new location making it the largest lesbian bar IN THE WORLD. The venue which was formerly known to house Hughes Hangar, is significantly larger than Pearls prior location offering party goers several rooms, two clubs, a huge patio with raised platform for performances, a full kitchen and much more. There’s also a members only speakeasy nestled away in the location!

Pearl Bar has been a staple the LGBTQ+ community for over a decade being a safe haven from everyone from lesbians to flood victims in Houston. In 2021 Pearl was also featured in The Lesbian Bar Project; an Emmy nominated documentary highlighting the remaining 36 lesbian bars left in the United States.

We’re elated to see all that’s in store for Pearl Bar and we can’t wait to visit the new building in person! Congrats to Julie and her team on bringing Pearl 2.0 to life and make sure to stop by the new location ASAP!
